Shriram Chandran

I am Shriram Chandran, a Doctoral student at the Scalable Parallel Computing Laboratory at ETH Zürich, advised by Prof. Dr. Torsten Hoefler. My research focuses on portable high-performance computing, compiler systems, and programming models for heterogeneous architectures.
Previously, I completed my Master of Science in Computer Science at ETH Zürich, graduating in 2025, and my Bachelor of Technology degree in Computer Science and Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology Madras, graduating in 2022.

| May 30, 2023 | On November 14, 2022, I received my first patent! My work, along with others in Prof. Nasre’s group on the StarPlat DSL, led to a patent—hopefully, the first of many more to come! |
| Sep 19, 2022 | I started my MSc degree in Computer Science at ETH Zürich on September 19, 2022, after moving to Switzerland 10 days earlier. |
| Jul 13, 2022 | I graduated from IIT Madras with a B. Tech. degree in Computer Science and Engineering! As part of my Bachelor’s project with Prof. Nasre’s group, I worked on implementing compiler optimizations for a Graph DSL. Looking forward to starting my master’s degree at ETH Zürich in two months. |

| Dec 31, 2019 | I was among the best competitive programmers at IIT Madras. I placed in the top 200 participants in the ICPC Amritapuri online qualifiers in 2019. |
| Jul 31, 2018 | I started my B. Tech. degree in Computer Science and Engineering at IIT Madras! I had a strong academic performance in high school, securing two KVPY scholarships, qualifying for the training camps for the International Physics and Astronomy Olympiads, and achieving an AIR 74 in JEE Advanced 2018. |
